A Filipino-American Sunset
Captured with a Nikon Coolpix 2500 in Quezon City on Monday, 9 June 2003 7:52 pmLast modified on Wednesday, 28 September 2011 11:41 pm
The golden arches, the golden sun
With the beautiful sunset in its back drop, the looming sign of McDonald's stand proud and unchallenged.
The Philippines is home to over 100 McDonald's. We've even have a local slang for it in the same affectionate way that the British or Americans call their McDonald's Macy-d's or Micky-d's... we call ours McDo - pronounced Mac - Do with a sharp o ending.
Home to over 450 fast food burger shops alone, a foreigner won't feel too far away from home. Don't be afraid to try the local cuisine though, it might even be a nice change of pace.
