Bantay Church Steeple

Welcome to Vigan
A 4 day tour of Vigan and the surrounding provinces is what I planned for the Holy Week and when I arrived in the town of Bantay in Ilocos Sur, just outside the City of Vigan, the Bantay Church was the first stop.
The Neo-Gothic Bantay Church was the one of the last churches visited for that day. A site for many Fernando Poe (FPJ) films, it's lone, fiery-red bell tower stands gallantly on top of a hill, framed by a blue sky as a background while the sun slowly sets in the west. An amazing (though slightly dry) welcome for tourists into Vigan as the journey into the city's heritage barely begins.
