MS05-052 may cause browser error

Several users who have updated Windows 2000 with MS05-052 are experiencing browser errors.
Symptoms include a popup error "Type error: 'null' is null or not an object." The error will prevent the user from browsing through IE, exploring their computer or accessing their computer's control panel.
This error has only been reported for Windows 2000 and the most likely cause of this error is a conflict with Mercury TestDirector.
Workaround :
For users who are unable to explore Windows.
1. Open Windows Explorer.
2. Click on Tools then Folder Options
3. Click on the General Tab
4. Click on "Use Windows classic folders"
5. Click on Apply
6. Click on OK
Solution : Uninstall MS05-052.
1. Click on Start then Run
2. Type in the command "%windir%\$NtUninstallKB896688-IE6SP1-20051004.130236$\spuninst\spuninst.exe"
3. Click on OK.
4. Restart your computer.
