The regularly busy intersection of Makati Avenue and Paseo de Roxas is empty on a Friday morning. The Holy week which starts Thursday is one of the longest weekends in the Philippines and most Manilenos do get out of the city. Everything from newspapers, broadcasting companies to buses, jeeps and public transportation go on holiday.
